Where can I get my transcript for summer institute coursework?

OU Transcripts

Lodging

What does "lodging when applicable" mean?

The Geospatial Summer Institute is a statewide program for students from all Oklahoma Space Grant universities. Lodging is provided to promote attendance by those from outside the OKC metro area who would not be able to commute to the OU campus. Occasionally, when special circumstances warrant exceptions can be made. Inquiries of this nature should be directed to Melissa Brown at melwalker@ou.edu

Where is lodging provided?

Lodging for summer institute participants from outside the OKC metro area is provided at Sooner Legends Hotel. Participants will be notified of all lodging details prior to the start of the institute.

Do students share rooms?

Good stewardship of program funding often necessitates that students share rooms. Primary placement is based on gender but CSA will make every effort to accommodate roommate requests for students from the same institution, etc. Please contact Melissa Brown at melwalker@ou.edu if you have questions.

Do I check out over Memorial Day weekend?

Yes, there is no instruction the weekend of May 24-26. If this creates hardship please contact Melissa Brown at melwalker@ou.edu

Stipend

If I don't use the lodging can I get a bigger stipend?

No, the stipend is provided to cover costs of attending the program that are not otherwise provided for such as transportation. Increasing the stipend for those who do not require lodging would unfairly advantage students residing in the metro area.

When will I get my stipend check?

Stipend checks will be issued on the final day of the institute along with ESRI ArcGIS I and certificates to all students who complete the program.

Logistics, Orientation, Etc.

I have been awarded a fellowship, now where do I go, what do I do?

Shortly before the institute takes place you will receive an email with detailed orientation information including directions, parking, lodging, classroom, etc. and many of these are covered below as well. Signs will be posted on the first day directing you to check in from the entrances.

How do I get to OU? Where is the classroom?

For driving directions and a campus map online here. Most of the summer institute will be held in Sarkeys Energy Center, #112 on the campus map. Class will be held on the Department of Geography GIS lab room N106.

What about parking?

During May Intercession no permit will be required for students in commuter and multipurpose lots on OU campus. The most convenient lots to Sarkeys Energy Center are AC14 south row only and MP 4 on this map. Residence hall permits will be provided for participants staying in the dorms.

What about meals?

Breakfast and lunch are provided each day of instruction on site. If you have any special dietary preferences or restrictions please indicate this as requested on the fellowship questionnaire.

Accommodations of the Basis of Disability
